Course Information
The IV Summer Course in Morphofunctional Sciences is a theoretical-practical course of the Department of Morphology conducted by the students of the Graduate Program in Morphofunctional Sciences under the Coordination of Professors Dr. Gilberto Cerqueira and Dr. Domingos Morano. The course aims to provide a space for dissemination, discussion, and enhancement of knowledge about Morphofunctional Sciences and will take place from July 3 to July 7, 2023, in the Department of Morphology at the Faculty of Medicine of UFC.
In this context, over a week of theoretical and practical classes, lectures, debates, workshops, and other reflective activities. Students from all over Brazil will have the opportunity to learn about the research lines developed within the diverse areas of the Program. In its 4th Edition, the course will promote training in the following areas: Anatomy, Histology, Reproductive Biology, Dissection, Plastination, 3D Printing, Board Games, Immunohistochemistry, Parkinson and Depression Models, Gastric Ulcer Model, Reproductive Biology, Cardiovascular Physiology, Periodontitis, Forced Swim, Rotarod, Stereotaxic Surgery, Optical Electron Microscopy, Toluidine Blue Staining, Hematoxylin. Participating students will visit some laboratories of the PCMF Program at the Faculty of Medicine. The 4th summer course will last 1 week with a workload of 40 hours. It is intended for undergraduate students in Biological and Health Sciences. In addition to Primary and Secondary Public School Science Teachers who are interested in knowing the different research lines developed by the Morphofunctional Sciences Program.
The Organizing Committee hopes that the IV Summer Course in Morphofunctional Sciences succeeds and contributes to the expansion of scientific thinking.
SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process will occur through a letter explaining the reasons for attending the course and the Lattes curriculum analysis, both attached in PDF. The selection result will be released by June 22 along with the waiting list at the address www.pcmf.ufc.br and participant’s email. The selection will offer 21 vacancies. Auditing, already graduated students will not be accepted due to laboratory space limitations.

Course Dates
July 3 to July 7, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the UFC’s Faculty of Medicine. Days: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Address: Rua Delmiro de Farias.
Location
The entire course will take place in the facilities of the Department of Morphology at the Federal University of Ceará’s Faculty of Medicine, located at Rua Delmiro de Farias, Rodolfo Teófilo Neighborhood (Near Hemoce), Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil.
Price
The course is entirely free.
Food and Transportation
During the course, we will not provide lunch. The canteen of the Department of Morphology is a private service that offers lunch for a price between R$ 8-10. Transportation between the campuses (PICI AND PORANGABUSSU) will be carried out by UFC free of charge.
Lodging and Food
We do not provide accommodation or food.
